In recent years there is increasingly higher demand for precision, speed and efficiency, which isn’t reached by traditional machines with rotary servo motors and ballscrews.
Anderson researched for years a higher transmission system: linear motors, to provide the best price-performance ratio in the woodworking industry. Linear motor technology features high travel speed on X and Y axis and precise gearing and positioning to reach new standards in speed and accuracy.
Traditional CNC routers have relied on ball screw and rack and pinion systems, limiting the axis movement and speed, and with the obvious maintenance requirements with “metal to metal” contact. The GS710 linear drive system in essence “floats” upon a cushion of air, eliminating wear and with obvious maintenance saving. Traditional CNC routing speeds are usually between 8 – 24 metres per minute but, during the Atlanta exhibition, the GS710 reached the routing speed of 90 metres per minute!
